Susan Renee Richardson is a poet, writer, drummer, creative writing teacher, and alumna of Goddard College where she studied poetry as an undergraduate and earned a Master of Arts in psychology and counseling. 

Susan’s poetry and writing have appeared in The Saturday Evening Post, Maine Women Magazine, skirt! Magazine, Foliate Oak, Third Wednesday, Calyx, Maine Bar Journal, Rediscover New Hampshire, In Newsweekly, Cape Ann Weekly, The Weekly Sentinel, The Portsmouth Herald, York County Coast Star, and The York Weekly.

In 2012, Susan was one of Foliate Oak’s nominees for the Best of the Net Anthology for her poem entitled  “List of Things I’d Never Say.”

Susan has eight years of experience teaching and facilitating a creative writing group as a volunteer in a correctional facility. She was a guest workshop teacher at the Stonecoast MFA program’s 2013 winter residency, where she gave a workshop on teaching creative writing in prison. She currently teaches in an English language and literacy program and offers private ESOL and literacy instruction to adult learners.
